Once in Mykonos features in major global media

Once in Mykonos Designed for Adults reopens for second season on 1st May.
It all starts in June 2022 when the villa of a prominent businessman has transformed into a luxury hotel aiming at offering guests the experience of being treated as treasured friends. Today, Once in Mykonos is, without a doubt, one of the most welcoming and idyllic places to stay in Mykonos thanks to its beautiful facilities, high-quality hospitality services and strategic location.

And if you haven’t been convinced yet, find out what some of the most popular global media state for Once in Mykonos Luxury Resort:

Τhe Τimes, Europe’s best new beach hotels
Feb 2023 - “If you’re only ever “once in Mykonos”, this is where to experience the island — on Ornos Beach, often voted the most beautiful, but also one of the buzziest and family-friendly. As the neat lines of busy beds testify, it’s a crowd-pleaser. You’ll be floating above the scene at this stylish hotel since all 59 rooms have a sea view. However, the very best place to take in the party panorama is from the limestone pool, where you’ll be served crisp, white assyrtiko wine as you people-watch — you needn’t even get sand in your toes.”

The Forbes, Mykonos For Grown-Ups: Two New Hotels Go Back To The Island’s Roots
Sept 2022  - “A few miles away in Ornos, another pared-back luxury hotel with a whiff of nostalgia opened in June. Once in Mykonos is a bit snazzier than Theoxenia, reflecting the property’s past as a luxurious and cosmopolitan villa that was frequented by artists and intellectuals. It’s quite large for a 59-room hotel, with the reception, large swimming pool and main restaurant atop a hill overlooking Ornos beach. The accommodations, in a design by architect Fivos Stavrides of F Studio Designers, are arrayed down the hillside in the style of an (enormous) ancient Greek amphitheater. Some of the rooms have “chill-out pools” in front of them, with a path over the water to get into the room. It’s an impressive infrastructure. But inside, the rooms have a postmodern sensibility and a boho-chic design, with whitewashed walls and natural materials like copper and stone. Some of them have real trees inside. Everything is spacious and light. The Jo Malone amenities are a nice touch. The spa, however, goes a bit more local, using organic ingredients from the Aegean Sea and Mykonian earth, which is said to be rich in nourishing nutrients. It’s small but fully equipped, and my massage hit all the right spots. So did the poolside restaurant, where head chef Nikos Skordakis (under the guidance of the hotel group’s executive chef, Kyriakos Sotiriou, who has extensive experience in five-star hotels and Michelin-star restaurants) has put together a menu of classics from Greece and beyond. At dinner that means grilled octopus, squid and red mullet, or maybe beef tartare or crayfish risotto, while during the day there are salads, flatbreads and pasta. They’re planning on bringing on an international luxury restaurant brand for the fine dining restaurant soon.”

Condé Nast Traveler, The best hotels in Mykonos 2023
Sept 2022 - “New to the island, this dapper spot built into the steep hillside of the cozy western bay has some of the best views in Mykonos. Swim up to bedrooms from a private pool or dip a toe into the rooftop infinity pool, which has a sunken bar and floating sun beds. 59 minimal suites have terraces and sea views for sipping sundowners. The bathrooms, equipped with a huge Hamman walk-in rain shower, are worth a shout-out. Guests range from young families to sleek partygoers, all looking for a chilled post-party buzz. Staff is friendly, attentive and know all guests by name – they won’t forget how you want your coffee in the morning. Young-gun Cretan chef, Marion Toutountzoglou serves innovative dishes, taking inspiration from his travels and incorporating traditional Greek flavours. We had to refrain from ordering hummus with every meal. Supper is best taken on the terrace at golden hour when the sun is sinking behind the craggy hillside dotted with bright-white villas and windmills. You chose this hotel to quietly laze, chill out, and nurse the ouzo hangover from the night before.”
